Frank Krolicki is a Media Relations Specialist with
Walker Sands.
Frank came to Walker Sands with diverse experience in both public
relations and newspaper journalism. He received his bachelor’s
degree in journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign,
and worked in public relations for the university’s internationally
renowned Department of Computer Science. There, Frank publicized
the latest innovations in technology coming from top researchers
and students in the department. While working for the department,
his articles were published in both tech-focused and general outlets.
Frank also held a public relations position at the YWCA of Metropolitan
Chicago, a non-profit organization dedicated to combating racism
and assisting women in crisis through rape recovery, economic empowerment
and child care programs. At the YWCA, he helped build public awareness
of the organization through media outreach, marketing strategies
and communication with donors.
In addition, Frank gained reporting experience at the Daily Illini,
the independent, student-run newspaper at the University of Illinois,
where he wrote general assignment and feature stories. He also wrote
music reviews and features for Buzz, an entertainment magazine,
as well as freelance stories for the Landmark, a weekly newspaper
serving Riverside, North Riverside and Brookfield, Illinois.
At Walker Sands, Frank works to obtain media placements for clients
through media outreach, developing PR ideas and creating pitch materials.
His experience in both public relations and newspaper journalism
has given him valuable insight into how to communicate effectively
with both clients and members of the media.
