About Us
Director
Responsibilities
  • Oversight of a Walker Sands city, small country office, or practice area.
  • Complete responsibility for local operations, including P&L accountability.
  • Build brand awareness for Walker Sands in your local market.
  • Recruit, train and manage marketing, PR, and administrative staff for your office.
  • Develop and procure new business opportunities.
  • Hands-on supervision of multiple accounts at the senior executive level.
  • Direct account teams in handling strategic and tactical PR issues.
  • Manage PR for clients in crisis mode.
  • Foster the professional development of your team and the growth of your office.
Experience Required
  • 5-10 years public relations or marketing experience, at least 5 years in public relations.
  • 5 years high-tech agency experience preferred.
  • Technical background and entrepreneurial experience preferred.
Education Required
  • BA/BS
  • MBA preferred
Skills Required
  • Extensive people management experience.
  • Direct client service at the CEO/President levels of corporations.
  • Experience managing a budget of at least $750,000-$1million per year.
  • Experience managing and mentoring teams.
  • Strong ability to prioritize/multi-task and help others to do so.
  • Proven ability to manage projects-both up and down.
  • Familiarity with the high-tech market and landscape.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Superb writing skills.
  • Understanding of PR plans, strategy and programs.
  • Positive attitude in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Superb problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Strong understanding of media and analysts, including developing relationships.
